Pickup trucks are undoubtedly one of the fastest-growing segments of the hobby, and it’s no secret why. V8 power, lots of parts and knowledge around, and unmatched practicality that makes them an easy purchase to justify, all which make this 1977 Chevy C10 Silverado worthy of a closer look.<\/span><\/p>\n

Remember seeing trucks like this around town, maybe loading up at the hardware store or pulling a trailer? A lot of us do, which makes these Chevys in particular a sentimental favorite. <\/span><\/p>\n

The two tone blue color combination is how this one came from the factory, and it gives the old pickup a great look that’s right for the time period. The upgraded Silverado trim package outlines the light blue insert with stainless trim, and it seems that this is one of the few that are still unmolested. The bed is in remarkably good condition, indicative of a truck that hasn’t been used for work and was instead a daily driver. Nice chrome bumpers, a blemish-free stainless tailgate insert, and oversized front bumper guards add a bit of sparkle that works well with the light blue paint.<\/span><\/p>\n

The medium blue interior is in similar condition, with what appears to be a newer seat cover and everything else in good original condition, there is a small crack in the dash that needs to be noted. <\/span><\/p>\n

Even in 1977, a lot of trucks came with simple rubber floor mats, so the carpets in the Silverado package are much appreciated and suit the somewhat luxury-oriented truck. It has an unusual combination of options, including a tilt column, and a sliding rear window, but the radio turns on but has no sound. The steering wheel appears to be original factory. Silverado also includes a full complement of instruments that are in good shape with minor fading on the needles themselves, which is typical, we did notice that the horn is not working. Soft vinyl parts like the dash pad and door panels are nicely preserved and not baked by the sun and the headliner doesn’t sag.<\/span><\/p>\n

You could get a six in your full-sized Chevy, but most guys opted for V8 power. You’ll find a 350 cubic inch V8 under the hood here with a Rochester 2 bbl Carb, which is a great choice for the guy who just wants to drive his truck and doesn’t plan any heavy hauling. Otherwise, it appears quite stock, which is a good thing for reliability, and you know that it hasn’t been abused. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and original rear end complete the powertrain, and the underside of this truck is in good order. With power steering and power brakes and an upgraded to dual mufflers at some point, so it has a great V8 exhaust note and factory Rally wheels..<\/span><\/p>\n

For not a lot of money, you can own a sweet-running vintage truck with a V8, and if anyone complains, just show them how much work it can do on the weekends. Bid today!<\/span><\/p>\n
