The race was on for a new look that would capture the hearts and wallets of the rapidly expanding middle class in post war America. Ford, as well as their Mercury division, were the first of the &#8220;&#8221;Big Three&#8221;&#8221; American manufacturers to cash in on the new &#8220;&#8221;envelope&#8221;&#8221; bodies that blended fenders and doors into one cohesive design. Mercury&#8217;s version became so iconic that most of these classics have been customized beyond restorable condition, leaving very few original examples.\u00a0 This stunning Maywood Green (13) 1950 Mercury Eight Coupe may well be the best-preserved example you&#8217;ll come across.
