While it wasn&#8217;t a hatchback, the large fixed rear glass dramatically improved rearward visibility and added extra cargo space. <em data-start=\"309\" data-end=\"325\">Car and Driver<\/em> praised the change, noting the new window \u201cfreshened up the Corvette\u2019s profile\u201d and helped reduce the car\u2019s famously tight interior feel by letting in more space and light.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"500\" data-end=\"847\">Inside, the Corvette saw several thoughtful updates. Though the center console layout remained largely the same, instrument bezels were redesigned from round to rectangular, a locking glovebox was added, and the door panels featured updated screw-in armrests. Every 1978 Corvette wore special 25th Anniversary badging to commemorate the milestone.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"849\" data-end=\"1386\">This particular 1978 Corvette comes equipped with the optional L82 350 CI small-block V8, automatic transmission, and Gymkhana suspension.
