<\/p>\nThe new C8 Generation of Corvette came with some serious fanfare and excitement as the new mid-engine design was going to be a great departure from traditional American front engine V8 platform. It wouldn’t be accepted immediately by the Corvette faithful, but ultimately beloved by all that saw its beautiful design curves and outstanding performance characteristics! Orders for the new C8 Stingray were incredible. So many in fact, that most dealers couldn’t promise any buyer they were going to get a first-year specimen. Then as 2020 developed into the year that it became, between the UAW strike December and the virus pandemic causing closure of the Bowling Green plant in mid-March, production was halted for a total of over 3 months limiting first year production for eager buyers, especially on the late production convertible model. Most waited for the 2021 model year with improved production numbers, but still far short of expectations.<\/p>\n
