Under the bonnet sits the original K-Code 289ci (4.7L) High-Performance V8, powering the rear wheels through a Top Loader four-speed manual transmission.<\/p>\n

This example has been sympathetically restored with a focus on originality, and photographs documenting the process are included in the sale.<\/p>\n

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES:<\/strong><\/p>\n

This Mustang left the San Jose production line in January 1965 and was sold new in Los Angeles before later being exported to the Netherlands, where it is now offered for sale by the current owner. A copy of the exported California title is in hand (see pic)<\/p>\n

The seller confirms that this car retains its original, numbers matching engine (see pic)<\/p>\n

The car has been resprayed in its original shade of Vintage Burgundy Red and features its original chrome trim as well as the High Performance 289 badges on the front fenders. Inside, the seats have been re-upholstered. The car has the original Ford radio and three central gauges denoting water temperature, amps, and oil pressure. Various historic documents and photographs of the restoration will be included in the sale.<\/p>\n

CONDITION<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

There is no known bodywork damage.<\/p>\n

The resprayed paintwork is reported to be in excellent condition overall and presents with a pleasing shine.<\/p>\n

The chrome trim is original to the vehicle and shows some bubbling and pitting; the restorer chose to retain these factory items for the sake of originality, rather than replacing them with (cheap) aftermarket parts.<\/p>\n

No mechanical or electrical faults have been detected.<\/p>\n

A period correct K code carburetor will be included in the sale. Currently there is a Holley carburetor mounted for a power upgrade<\/p>\n

This is an eye-catching example of the iconic pony car that has been sympathetically restored by a previous keeper with the aim of preserving much of the car’s original appeal.
