    • Dodge introduced the second-generation Viper, internally known as \u201cSR II\u201d, in 1996, introducing improvements across the board, including more power out of the V10 engine. Gone were the trademark side-exit exhaust pipes, giving their place to a single muffler with two tailpipes in the rear, but a hardtop was now available on RT\/10 models and weight dropped by 60 pounds thanks to new aluminum suspension components.<\/li>\n
    • Power comes from an 8.0-liter V10 engine, rated at 415 horsepower and 488 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec T-56 6-speed manual transmission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
