1969 Hemi Road Runner with 31,500 original miles. This all-original, numbers-matching classic (with the exception of the paint color) has been owned by the current owner for nearly 30 years. The vehicle underwent a meticulous nut-and-bolt restoration over 35 years ago, completed to exacting standards, and has since seen less than 2,000 miles on the road. Thanks to the quality of the restoration and the care it has received, the paint and chrome still look as if they were just polished.

Ten years ago, the 426 Hemi V8 engine and Torque-Flite 3-speed automatic transmission were completely rebuilt by Richard Conley Racing in Escondido, California, to the highest standards. The engine performs exceptionally well, revving quickly and exceeding 8,000 rpm. It starts right up without any piston slap or smoke and has only experienced less than 500 miles since the rebuild.

This vehicle is pristine inside and out. In addition to the original engine block and transmission, the carburetor and distributor tags match the vehicle. It retains all of its original body panels, with pictures of the restoration included. The original paint was F8 Ivy Green Poly. During the restoration, the vehicle was stripped and repainted to the rare 1969 paint code *999 Rallye Green.

Equipped with an automatic transmission on the column, power steering, power brakes, front disc brakes, front bucket seats, and redline bias belt tires, this Road Runner is both functional and stylish. All gauges, headlights, taillights, wipers, and the original AM/FM radio work properly; the antenna is being replaced as it was bent. The vehicle has a clean California title in the seller’s name and requires nothing.

In the last year, the vehicle received an oil change, new spark plugs, and new redline tires. It comes with a two-inch thick binder filled with documentation of mileage and the work performed on the vehicle, from the restoration to the engine rebuild.

In 1969, a total of 84,510 Road Runners were produced, of which 48,549 were hardtops like this one. Only about 0.48 percent of the hardtops featured the Hemi engine, defining this as a rare find. Of the 421 Hemi Road Runners that year, only 187 were equipped with an automatic transmission, making this vehicle even more collectible.

This stunning example would make a remarkable addition to any collection. If you are looking for a classic with extensive documentation, high value, and outstanding condition, this is the vehicle for you! The car has a clean title and is located in Escondido, California.

Thank you for checking out this beautiful original Hemi Road Runner! This car runs beautifully, but I must disclose that while originally equipped with the air grabber, it could not be salvaged in the restoration. It’s a well kept, strong muscle car that hits 8000rpms with ease. Please let me know if you have any questions, and happy bidding!
