This 1966 Oldsmobile 442 Pro Touring is a frame-off build featuring a new LS3 engine, reflecting a true pride of ownership. The owner originally had a ’66 442 in high school, and decades later, he and his high school sweetheart—now his wife of over 50 years—decided to build this car to be reliable, comfortable, and easily serviceable by any dealer. Their goal was to drive across Route 66 from California to Chicago, a journey that took six weeks. The car performed flawlessly and was serviced by Chevy dealers for oil and fluid checks along the way.
The car now has 12,000 miles since its professional build and is available following the owner’s passing. It started with a very straight, original black California-plated 442. The body was disassembled, and a high-quality two-stage paint process was applied, resulting in a flawless finish with block-sanded, straight body lines. All new trim, chrome, and weather stripping were installed, and the body gaps are excellent, with no rust ever present.
The interior remains stock and is in excellent condition, featuring several upgrades. The car was completely rewired, and the gauge cluster was updated with GPS speedometer functionality while all other gauges, including the clock, were rebuilt. Lighting has been upgraded to LED, and the car includes a Bluetooth stereo, power steering, and an upgraded Wilwood brakes package. Additional features include a working tachometer and vacuum gauge, sound-deadened interior and trunk, Vintage Air conditioning and heating, and a tilt steering wheel.
Under the hood, the car boasts a new LS3 engine with a mild cam, head work, headers, and a dual exhaust system, producing a tame sound. It is paired with a 4L60E transmission and an upgraded cooling system that maintains 180°F even with the AC on. The suspension has been enhanced with tubular upper and lower control arms, upgraded shocks, sway bars, and a steering rack, allowing the car to drive like new.

The speedo is a GPS based speedometer so sometimes depending on cloud coverage it will fluctuate on the speedo but not the odometer this car was done approximately 6 years ago to be taken on the Route 66 to New York and back starting from California which it did effortlessly I have no problem and encourage a third party inspection my phone number is 818-481-2200 if you would like to talk other than text thank you Aaron Ruskin
what is the issue with the speedo? See it reads ~20mph @ idle in the video (dated 7-8 mos ago from April). Has that been fixed?
Do restoration records and receipts come with the car?
What year was the restoration done?
Appreciate the transparency on the 2 paint chips in the photos…do you have paint code?
Finally, are you open to 3rd party inspection, including test drive?
Thank you.
