1956 Ford F100 Custom Pickup – VIN: F10D6R-16301
This stunning, well-built Ford pickup caught my eye the moment it arrived at the clubhouse. I knew immediately I wanted to buy it; it was clearly above average. After chatting with the owner, I discovered he had owned it for nearly 20 years and completed all the work himself, including the paint job, which is superior to most professional shops.
While I won’t claim it’s perfect, it is certainly exceptional. As I examined the interior, I noticed he had installed the headliner, and I commented on how challenging that can be—he wholeheartedly agreed. I believe he enjoyed the process of building this beautiful truck more than actually driving it afterward, as it has only 1,049 miles since completion.
He provided a thick clipboard filled with receipts documenting the extensive work done. Key upgrades include a Mustang II front end, a 302 Ford V8 engine paired with a C6 automatic transmission, front disc brakes with a power booster, and a Jaguar rear end, allowing for four-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension. The exhaust features headers leading to a dual system with MagnaFlow mufflers, exiting beneath the running boards.
This is a total frame-off restoration, showcasing his attention to detail. The truck features comfortable bucket seats with a center console and over-the-shoulder seatbelts. He installed a tilt steering column, and the black interior beautifully contrasts with the yellow dashboard. Notably, there’s no radio installed, maintaining a clean look.
The hood has been re-engineered to tilt forward, and he equipped it with American Racing five-spoke cast wheels and BFGoodrich tires, which enhance its overall appearance. The truck bed, built from carbon fiber, adds a unique touch. While it lacks a front bumper, it does have a chrome rear bumper that completes the look.
The addition of the Jaguar rear end elevates the truck to another level. It’s lowered more in the front than the back, so caution is advised when driving due to its low stance. Overall, it runs smoothly, quietly, and tightly—no rattles to be found. He truly did a fantastic job on this build!
