This Packard “Super Eight Club Sedan” Is A True Survivor, With Its Body, Engine, Transmission, Drivetrain, Suspension, Electrical System, And Interior Intact As Originally Delivered By The Packard Motor Car Company In 1949. The Body, Brightwork, And Interior Fittings Have Been Cleaned And Polished, But Otherwise Left Undisturbed Following 30+ Years Of Storage.

Critical Original Components Have Been Disassembled, Cleaned, Rebuilt, Tested, And Reinstalled.

Electrical System Checked For Proper Operation (Including Wiring, Interior/Exterior Lamps, Gauges, Sending Units, Switches, And Relays) with Components Cleaned Or Repaired As Necessary

The Transmission, Overdrive, And Rear Axle Fluids Drained And Refilled With Correct Lubricants; And All Chassis Points Greased.

 

Work Performed:

Oil Pan Dropped And Cleaned; Floating Oil Pickup Cleaned And Flushed; Block Interior And Crank/Rods/Main Bearing Supports Visually Inspected; New Pan Gaskets Installed.

Radiator – Dismounted, Chemically Cleaned, Flushed, Pressure Tested And Flow Tested; Reinstalled With New 50/50 Antifreeze Mix.

Water Pump – Rebuilt With New Bearings And Seal; All New Gaskets, Hoses And Clamps Installed; New Fan Belt Installed.

Generator And Starter Motor – Both Rebuilt With New Bearings And Brushes; Starter Motor Bendix Rebuilt. Both Units Bench Tested Prior To Reinstallation, Then Road Tested.
Voltage Regulator – Contacts Cleaned, Unit Bench Tested For Proper Function Prior To Reinstallation, Then Road Tested To Confirm Proper Operation.

Battery – New, Correct-Type 6- Volt Battery Installed; Battery Safety Cutoff Switch Installed, New Chassis/Body Ground Strap Installed.

Carburetor – Jets, Bowl, And Fuel Passages Cleaned And Flushed, Seats Inspected; Anti-percolation Valves Cleaned And Set; Auto-Choke Assembly Cleaned And Set; Starter Switch Assembly Checked For Proper Operation And Contacts Cleaned.

Heater Core – Flushed, Pressure Tested And Flow Tested All New Hoses And Clamps
Installed.

Heater Automatic Temperature Control Valve – Disassembled, Cleaned, Seal Replaced, Pressure And Flow Tested, Reinstalled, Rechecked For Operation

Heater Blower – New 2- Speed Heater Blower Assembly Installed.

Overdrive Relay And Overdrive Solenoid- Disassembled, Cleaned, Points Dressed, Contacts Cleaned, Coils Checked, Reassembled, Bench Tested And Road-tested For Proper Operation.

Fuel/Vacuum – Combination Pump Fully Rebuilt With New Springs And Diaphragms; Inline Fuel Filter Installed To Protect Pump And Carburetor. Vacuum Wiper Motor Rebuilt.

Intake/Exhaust – New Manifold Gasket Set Installed; New Exhaust System Installed.
Fuel Tank – Dismounted, Chemically Cleaned, Flushed, Pressure Tested, Protective Interior And Exterior Coatings (Gas Tank ReNu) Applied.

Fuel / Brake Lines (Metal And Flex Lines) – Fully Checked For Abrasion, Rust, Or Cracking; All Lines Blown Out With Compressed Air And Pressure Checked.

Brakes – Fully Serviced With N.O.S. Drums, Shoes, Hardware, Wheel And Master Cylinder Components; Master And Wheel Cylinders Honed And Checked; D.O.T. 4 Fluid, System Static And Road Tested. Emergency Brake System Fully Functional.

Ignition System – Distributor Cleaned And Checked; Points Dressed And Gapped; Condenser, Cap, Rotor, Wires Checked; New Autolite Spark Plugs Installed
