This 1946 Studebaker M5 Express Delivery is a rare and exceptional pickup truck in remarkable condition, with no history of rust or damage. The truck features extensive period-correct restomod modifications, making it a standout vehicle. Power comes from a custom-built 1950 Studebaker flathead I-6 engine, crafted by renowned Studebaker engine builder Bill Cathcart. The engine has higher compression, dual carburetors on an aluminum Offenhauser intake manifold, a custom-made polished and finned head, a split exhaust manifold for true dual exhaust, and solid-state ignition, producing an estimated 145 horsepower.

The truck has a dropped front suspension equipped with late-model GM disc brakes, tube shocks, and a dual master cylinder, along with a Porsche 911 front stabilizer bar. The drivetrain features a GM S-10 overdrive 5-speed transmission, paired with a modern industrial clutch, and a Ford 9-inch rear axle with drum brakes, connected to the original emergency brake handle. The rear suspension has a reduced spring rate and is lowered, with tube shocks for improved handling. Staggered Goodyear radial tires with Diamond Back wide white walls are mounted on American Racing chrome wheels.

The truck has been extensively updated with new paint, chrome, rubber, glass, and wiring, while still retaining the original 6-volt positive ground system. The starter and generator have been rebuilt, and a new voltage regulator has been installed. Inside, the truck features a new interior by Jack Schrader, with additional comfort features, sound insulation, and quality ride enhancements, making it a comfortable daily driver. It is equipped with a basic stereo audio amplifier, speakers, and an auxiliary input.

Built approximately 10 years ago, this remarkable truck has been driven only a few thousand miles since.
