This is a beautiful example of the classic 1941 Cadillac Convertible, presented in Dark Blue with a Brown leather interior and a Tan manual convertible top. Powered by the original 346 CI Monobloc Flathead V8 and paired with a 3-speed manual transmission, this Cadillac retains its original 6-volt electrical system. Purchased at Hershey around 7 years ago after an older restoration, it remains in excellent condition. The engine was rebuilt and the car repainted prior to purchase, with the paint still showing very well. The body panels are solid, appear original, and align beautifully. Chrome, trim, and badging are all in very good condition, with only minor pitting on the bumpers. The undercarriage is clean and solid, while the leather interior, featuring a walnut dash and period-correct instrumentation, is in great shape.

The Cadillac Series 62 marked a turning point in General Motors’ design, with Harley Earl and his team crafting a modern look that set aside the upright grilles and running boards of the past. The Series 62 introduced integrated headlights, a wide horizontal grille, and smooth, flowing lines that created a sleek and refined profile. This 1941 iteration, featuring Cadillac’s 346 cubic-inch L-head V8 engine producing 150 horsepower, was an aesthetic and engineering breakthrough, with a reputation comparable to iconic American designs like the Cord 810 and the Duesenberg J. Cadillac built over 24,000 Series 62s across five body styles, with only 3,100 units produced in the desirable convertible coupe body style, making this car a rare and sought-after collector’s item. The Series 62’s V8, manual gearbox, and independent front suspension make it one of the best-driving cars of its era.

This particular car has seen minimal use since purchase but starts easily, drives smoothly, and handles well. It rides on wide whitewall bias-ply tires mounted on factory steel wheels with Cadillac wheel covers. There are a few minor issues, including an intermittent speedometer, a non-working odometer, clock, wipers, radio, power antenna, and a heating system that is plumbed but not functional. The convertible top is older and has some light staining but is overall in very good condition, with no rips or tears and fully functional mechanisms.

The car comes with a clean title in the owner’s name, electrical diagrams, a convertible boot, and a car cover. It is currently stored in Massachusetts.

I understand that the convertible top on these cars had the option of a vacuum powered top, is that option not on this car or is it just not working ? Or am I miss informed ? Please advise.

    • ZoomCC says:

Your are correct in that there was a vacuum powered option but I do not believe this car had it. I’ll double check and confirm before the end of the auction. Thanks.

  • Phil181 says:

In the video it appears to have some blue smoke from the exhaust can you confirm that please. Does it burn oil ?

    • ZoomCC says:

Car was started after sitting for a few months and there was a little blue smoke. It seemed to stop after running for awhile. It was also cold the day that we did the video. Thanks.

We cannot disclose the reserve during the auction per our agreement with ACC. However, you can have a look at the Reserve Meter above and get an idea of approximately where the reserve is currently. It’s possible that the reserve will be lowered in the final days or hours of the auction depending on where the bidding is. Thanks.
