1932 Ford Model A Phaeton Street Rod Replica
This 1932 Ford Model A Phaeton Street Rod is a replica built by the Glassic Company of West Palm Beach, FL—one of the first companies to produce a series-built Model A replica, even before Shay. You can learn more about the history of the Glassic Company here. Glassic built these cars between 1966 and 1971, before the company was sold to FredPro in 1972, which began making changes to appeal to a broader audience.
This particular fiberglass Phaeton model, built in 1971, is car #403 and features numerous custom options from Middleton Performance of VA. It’s powered by an upgraded Ford 302 CI/210 HP V8 engine paired with a Ford SelectShift automatic transmission with a floor-mounted shifter. The car also has a larger 102-inch wheelbase to accommodate the bigger engine.
This stylish Glassic boasts a beautiful chrome Ford grille, a black metal top in excellent condition, painted hood side covers, and a clean black and orange vinyl bucket seat interior. The interior features a wood dashboard and steering wheel, Autometer gauges, and a Kenwood AM/FM stereo. The exterior orange paint is in overall very good condition, with some scrapes along the passenger side, particularly on the rear fender, as shown in the photos. The chrome spoke wheels are in excellent condition, and the undercarriage is very clean, featuring dual exhaust exiting the rear with custom chrome tips and a custom chrome rear bumper.
The car is equipped with leaf springs in the front. Although it originally had power steering, the current owner removed it, but the unit will come with the car. If you’re looking for something classic, different, and cool, this Glassic Beauty should fit the bill. It’s reasonably priced and runs, drives, and handles very well. Everything works as it should. The car is stored in VA with a clean title in the owner’s name.
